Former Phillies reliever Dylan Covey has rejected his outright assignment to AAA
Syracuse and elected free agency.

Covey signed a one-year split contract the day after the conclusion of the World
Series. That came with an $850K base salary in the majors and a $350K salary fo
r whatever time he spends in the minors.
狂威在一月和大都會簽下一張一年合約
其中大聯盟薪資是85萬美金
去小聯盟則是薪資35萬美金
Covey has been outrighted multiple times in his career, which gives him the righ
t to decline the assignment in favor of free agency.
However, he’d forfeit his $350K minor league guarantee to test the market, so h
e’ll presumably accept the assignment and get a non-roster invitation to Spring
Training.
這樣他等於放棄了35萬鎂的保障薪資，重新進入自由市場
所以當時MLBTR原本預期他會接受下放
