Eric Mussuleman This was a big-time team effort with seven players in double-figures and a nice contribution from the bench. We had 59 points off the bench tonight and that gave us a huge boost. We took care of the basketball, we were able to score 104 points and have a turnover total of only 12. We also had 29 assists on 44 baskets, and that was a key to the game. We knew coming into the game that we were going to need multiple guys. Coming off a back-to-back night, and Denver is a decent amount of travel on a back-to-back. We went to our bench and went a little bit deeper because it was a back-to back game. We are going to him (Brian Cardinal) a little bit more offensively because he is doing a phenomenal job of drawing fouls. We were a lot more active than we have been. But, New York shot 57% (56.9%) and we would like to get that down a little bit. We did a pretty good job offensively. It is important to play 12-minute games and we won 3 out of 4 quarters tonight. On the importance of the game:We head back out for two road games and we like to head back out with a little bit of momentum. This game was very important for us, it was a must win. Nick Van Exel I was a little passive in the first half, but in the second and half, and third quarter I was more conscience trying to get us into a flow and pick up the temp a little bit. Every game is big for us. But, coming off losing two to Denver, two very disappointing games we were kind of down a little bit and we responded tonight. It was a positive sign. Plus, we are about to go on the road and really get tested, so it was big. Brian Cardinal It was a good night; my teammates made some good plays. They had some good drives that was opened things up and I was able to get some open looks and I was able to knock some down tonight. We needed our bench to come out and play big tonight. In order for us to be successful we need our bench to play big for us. We have five really solid starters, but they cannot play every minute of every game. In order for us to be successful our bench has to get some solid minutes and make things happen. Speedy Claxton After losing two back-to-back like we did, we needed to come out and get a big win tonight-that is what we did. … Our bench is always a big part in what we do.
